RENE MAGRITTE
Today I´m going to talk about one of my favourites painters called Rene Magritte.
He was born at 21 november 1898 in Lesinnes, Belgium. He was a surrealist artist, his work is so important that continuos be a reference and it is common to see his name in Art, Philosophy or Social Science articles, essays and books.
He is particularly interesting because he developed in parallel a theory and a support, I am saying that he could complement their philosophical thoughts with a phisical and graphic depiction.
For example one of his best-known work is "this is not a pipe" and this work hides a philosophical concept about the question- what are the images? in the sense of a reality depicted. why we are creating when we make a line or when we put a colour in a paper or a wall?
he is very stimulating and lived a very interesting life, he did not belong to the normal artist socierty of theuir age, meanwhile some artist live a bohemian life with drugs and alcohol, with a lot of woman and trying to be very different to the rest of the society, Rene was very humble and he live a very simple life, he do not trying to be special, he wasn´t use extrange and extravagant clothes, he only have one wife, and he was very stric with use the alcohol consciously and do not use drugs.
I think he was autentic, and he is a real professor, he was able to join a very ascetic life with a rigurous and sensible art sense.
